I was going to put in a custom dash and soundproofing. But Jess would prefer a cooper s/k gauge binacle and keep the shelf open. Do I
A: Line the engine bay side with a bit of aluminium plate and build my custom dash, or
B: Cover both sides of the hole with plate and use a traditional binacle

I have been trying to estimate the cost of both - give me your opinion please!

Geez that musta been some carby they had on that  :P

I like the K or S binnicle so my vote is biased, you should be able to get away with only putting plate on one side shouldn't you ?

Make a cardboard or metal template of another Mini....get it back to normal looking as best you can. Then just bolt up your three guage binnacle....

extra brownie points for doing what the lady wants!!!

Take template of the hole, and cut a flanged plate. Plug weld it back in and make it look as neat as you can. Then build a custom binnacle dash that keeps the open look of the mini dash - everyone's got a custom dash cut from MDF with vinyl stapled over it, That's what I'm thinking for my clubman.
