Post subject:  13 inch wheels and flares!
Hi everyone just a quick question, When fitting 13inch rims and tyres, you modify the actual guard but do the flares need to be modified ?? Arnt they designed to fit the arch which is unmodified. wouldnt the whee/tyre foul the arch?

Also where to find arches to fit a van in sydney??

Not sure if the Rover Sports Pack arches will fit a van. Normally on a sedan the Rover Sports Pack arches fit on and are way up the body. When you cut the body it still isn't as high as the arches fit.

I have a friend that has fitted them to a van with a bit of fiddling.

I suggest you try Karcraft for these arches. Just a word of warning, original Rover items fit much better. Also had a friend who tried to fit copies and they just caused heaps of trouble as they just don't seem to fit.

The sportspack arches should fit the van shape. The body does need cutting to clear the front wheels on full lock. The rear arches wont sit properly unless modified to suit the different *body* shape of the rear-most part...

Below is a pic from my collection of 2,566 mini photos :shock: ...... note how high the car sits, thats because the arches are flat underneath, and upwards travel of the wheels can result in fouling on the arch... hit the arches too hard and the mounts could shear off.... extensive vehicle modification can cure this though.... :twisted:
