I have this fuel filter that I removed from my 1970 Cooper S and I wondered if anyone knows much about them. Keen to understand; Were they original? Did they perform well? Would they work ok with twin 1 1/2" SU's? Should it have a filter element? And if so Can you still buy them? Or Should I just get a new modern filter/regulator? That is a water trap filter. Were commonly fitted on tractors and stationary engines. No filter element, but there may be a gauze filter in top? First time I've seen a Wipac one, they were better known for their electrical stuff- headlamps, fog & driving lights, etc. |

How funny! I think the car was once owned by a farmer because it was filled with red dirt when I got it. Wouldn't be surprised if it was fitted from a tractor with little effect. A new filter for me then! |

On the fire wall. I know it seems crazy. When I got it someone had taken the twin SU's off it and fitted a single 1 1/4 to it. Would have been running lean on one. Fortunately the original twins were inside the cabin, along with the chickens nest! |
