Hi everyone, I have seen pictures of minis with a series engines with the carbs facing away from the fire wall. Is it easy to do? What's the go? Do they turn the head around? I'm new to minis and curious. ![]() |

It's a 7 or 8 port crossflow head. Looks to have a dry deck conversion too |

In other words it's an aftermarket cylinder head Is it easy to do, well it's not the easiest but it's nothing too complex. Costs a lot of money though for the cylinder head and cars and anything else that may be needed depending on the setup. |

So I'm guessing cutting out the fire wall and adding a box would be a lot easier and cheaper. |

You can get them to fit without firewall mods but need the super short manifold and trumpets. |

I wonder what the piece of engineering masterpiece is between the wiper arms??....And yes the X-flow heads work well with lotsa money thrown at them |

As for cost, here's an example: 8 port Arden head: http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... J4064.aspx (£1600-2000) Exhaust manifold: http://www.minispares.com/product/classic/C-AHT343.aspx (£360) Camshaft: http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... EG312.aspx (£240) Then your pair of Webers, plus all the modifications to fit the head, tuning time etc. Or this 7 port SC head: http://twinkam.co.uk/epages/191f6b26-60 ... /SC216-004 Available with Webers, or fuel injection. The head is £1500, £2800 with Webers or fuel injection. So, much cheaper to put a box in the firewall and a single Weber, or go with a downdraft carb and manifold! |

Interesting that the passenger gets the highback Recaro; driver makes do with lowback seat! |
