Hello! A friend of mine gave me a 998cc engine block which is re-bore to 040 yesterday! :D

The block is an old 998 Cooper block (Pre A+) and my question is;
This circlip/piston set intend to fit early 998 A+
http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... 0to%20shop

Does it fit my Pre A+ Cooper stuff?

Yes it will, as long as your Cooper has 998/1098 rods (not the old clamp bolt 850/997 ones).
Early A+ had the same rods as a 998/1098 A series. Then they changed to interference fit rod, shorter gudgeon pin with no circlips.

Personally, I would buy locally available flat top pistons, either Hypatec or Russell Engineering.
for example-
