Whilst the radiator (& motor) is out I replaced the 2x rear rivets (near top tank) with M3x5 screws & nuts, Loctited. I did the front 2 a year ago in the car, no probs with those since.
Steel screws are stronger than broken copper rivets...

Thrashed it all the way from Hay back to Melbourne in one big hit (with a fuel stop of course).

Its not talking to me since I wrung its neck...

Replaced the brushes in the alternator. Tuned up the engine (timing and mixture settings). Made a noticable difference. Re-bled the brakes, still not perfect.. Took her for a good long drive until the alternator light started to start glowing again.. Oh well something else to replace.

A couple of months ago I replaced a frayed (genuine) throttle cable inner with a pushbike brake cable, all greased up nicely. For the last few weeks it's been really grabby, making smooth driving impossible.

So, out it came today, got a good clean and a solid dose of graphite powder instead of grease. Feels much smoother already...

Not so much what I did on my mini but what I made out of mini parts. For years we've had an old, bent, rusty rim hanging on the front fence for the garden hose.
Then one arvo I walked past it and got a great idea....

After a dig around in my pile of spare wheels I came up with a bald A-OO8 on a nice steel rim. Then after some 9" angle grinding on the tyre, a sand blast, some cream paint and a freshly polished hub cap I ended up with this.

Just needs some tyre shine and it'll be done.
I reckon it's cool and it looks awesome 8) :D .

That is so cool. Thinl I've got an old Clubby S Wheel with an A008 on it, might have to copy your idea....

Cheers,

Well, my exhaust fell off slightly.

So I spent the day fiddling around with chicken wire and ordering some replacement brackets.

Class!

Today I:
Adjusted turn indicators, so the self cancel works
    Fitted new switch escutcheon plate
Fitted new choke cable and adjusted it... car now starts easily now :D
Fitted new heater cable to new heater valve... now I can turn off heater!
Fitted new thermostat and filled with anti-freeze
Fixed badly installed radiator and shroud, so fan should not hit it now!

That was enough for one afternoon. 8)
