Thats some serious rust

I'm with Gundy & gtogreen that thing is pretty bad , a lot of hidden crap . In my opinion , not for the un-initiated .

In saying that , there have been others on here that have tackled worse projects .

If you could get it for no more than 1k , it would be good for a donor car .

yeah.... are the gutter or "sills" part of the roof? If i replaced the roof would that solve that issue? or are they seperate?

That front corner of the roof is nasty, as is the gutter. I would cut and shut all the pillars and replace the whole roof with a donor one.

Yes they are , and yes it would , but a big project all the same , as was said before , how much rust is in the floors and boot because from what the pics show there seems to a hell of a lot of rust in the side seams and around the boot area let alone the main sills under the doors .

Where abouts are you located , can you view the car easily enough ,or are you just going off the pics?

Hi Dawi03
Having restored a couple now, IMO-I'd keep looking for one with a LOT less rust and obvious bog.
You'll save yourself a hell of lot of time and money!!
Just my 2 cents worth
Cheers
Dave

Appreciate all the comments guys,

Honestly, I was trying to save a few bucks, have got a deposit on one that is 4k and looks pretty neat, but I feel sorry for this one, its stuck out in the rain and the owner is kinda neglecting it as he will use it for parts if he doesnt sell it....

We sold a better shell than that 3 weeks ago for $50. Looks like an expensive rust repair job.

Going by the photos so far, this is a major project, and that's for experienced panel tradesmen. And bog is not the way to repair a body, ya gotta do it properly, and if you can't do it yourself, it's going to cost heaps.
Pay the extra and get a decent body, you will be better off in the long run and will be a lot less stressful.

Do you have photos of the $4k one ?. Sounds like you may be on to a good thing here.

That is rust in awkward and visible spots. Whit is it like where one can't see ? Beware. It costs heaps to repair that sort of rust unless you can do it properly yourself. Finding a Mini that someone else has spent money on makes more sense like it has already been said saves you heartaches too.
