Looking at getting this in the not too distant future. I have searched all the carpet debates etc. Just wondering if anyone actually has this and can PM some info as to how it went. Also what you put underneath it. Thanks.

I have the charcoal Westminster one and I'm running the foam underlay that Minisport sell. I haven't installed it yet but it seems to be excellent quality material. Can't comment on for or ease of fitting.

Hello Flute,
I am going to do my own carpet. I have done others before using an old treadle sewing machine. Not sure it will handle the Westminister which is much thicker, so may need to borrow an industrial sewer.
I have bought 5 meters of "Bilberry" blue (as per Mini Sport) for my Marine Blue Mini.
The carpet is made by Tretford (of Ireland, using local and imported goats' hair - in China?) and sold through Gibbon Group in Qld.
The carpet cost me $450 delivered.
Gibbon Group will supply samples of other colours for free if you want to consider alternatives.
Consider the price of the carpet from Gibbon Gp and whether you can find someone to edge the pieces if you cut them out.
Also consider idr17's offer.
Bill

Really! Looks like I might need to have a chat to our trimmer to make sure our carpet templates are not used for the general public!... Thanks idr17!

Oh so you own the template (shape) for BMC and Leyland Mini carpet!! Gee that must have take years to develop!
Guys just take you old carpet to your trimmer of choice and ask them to make a copy, no breach of copyright... LOL
No wonder most of us purchase our spares direct from Mini Spares in the UK and save over 50% with your attitude.

Guys I use Lee Brothers in Albion QLD. I gave the boys an original carpet set to use as a template. They do an amazing job and are WAY cheaper than alternatives on the market. I have a set in Paddy if anyone wants to know what they look like.
If you call them ask to speak to Shayne. Tell him Greg sent you and he will use my templates.

Thanks to all the replies. I never intended to open a can of worms as I buy a lot of items from minisport and find their service to be outstanding. I just wanted to check that their product fits with ease or if people had any minor issues when fitting it on your own as opposed to any suggestion the product was not of top quality and value for money. Anyway, I will leave that for others to sort out. Cheers.

Hey Ian,
Do you not think I have the 'right' to protect my interest? Whilst we don't own the BMC carpet template our trimmer sure makes a few of them for us (with our template)- I have spoken to him and he assures me that he will not 'cut our lunch'.

Last time I saw you I said "hi", I even was talking to you about your house renovations... and all was fine- I didn't know you had an issue with me or Minisport?

Anyhow, we are doing fine.

Take care, and you never know, I might see you down at the woodcroft shops :P
