A few weeks ago I picked up a new toy to play with,
Image
Reading the Comp plate it tells me its a 11/77 Mini Sunshine, 998cc
Image
It has had quite a bit done to it by previous owners, like the interior, larger engine, disc's, 2nd tank and so on ....
Image
Image
have found a whole heap of things I need to do to it for a rwc but nibbling away at them and should be ready for reg in the next 4 weeks { maybe .... I bet the ball and chain holds me up lol }
I'd like to know what things it would of had as a std issue type thing,
top dash rail with or without brake fail / h-brake light ?
charcoal canister ?
airfilter set up ?
Air pump ? { Knowing that replacement parts are nla means I don't need to fit one }

Hope you enjoy the pics :) whille I enjoy the feeling of my knuckles growing back { many times }

Thanks gtogreen.
Really interesting article (especially on the workings of the sunroof).

Cheers

Is that the car with the steering wheel that tilts out the way?
I think it was advertised as a 1977 GT.

yes it is, advertised as having a gt engine ... not yet looked up the number but I believe it's an 1100"s", it has the funny wheel and as I don't like it it's coming off

Compliance plate is either a Mini S or a Sunshine.

A sunshine compliance plate was exactly the same as a standard mini S.

It doesnt appear to be a sunshine to me. The sunshine had a sunroof operated via a vacuum with the switch in the switchpanel, which it doesnt have and therefor is very unlikely to have sunshine roof as it wouldn't operate properly.

Not really that rare, sorry to say.

But very unique with that bodykit and that dash is very nice

It has had the "sunshine" sunroof removed at some point and replaced with a more generic one. I c an see where the rails where mounted and when I get to the shed next I'll take a pic of the little bumps in the roof.

Theres a line of these little dots running from the front to about midway along the rear side window and left to right { or r to l } on the front and back of the roof at the generic sunroof, looks to me thats where the "runners" used to be.

Damn hard to take a pic of a black car under fluro tube lights, all i get is either the reflection of the shed roof or the metallic flecks in the paint. I willl try for better pics when I can roll it outside on a sunny Melb day { in-between showers haha}

No the centre dash panel doesn't have the " sports roof" button, it's been changed at some point to a LS one with the fog light switch and heated rear window switch, no heated window fitted .... as yet { but I have one put aside atm.

Unfortunately I can't see your pics from here at work, but the opening of the sunshine sunroof has a strengthening loop that looks like angle iron welded to the inside edge of the opening. Dunno about 'bumps' in the roof unless it's bumps of bog - I have two rows of holes where the stainless steel rails are riveted through the roof. I really wish I had the original glass instead of a bent sheet of Perspex. >:S
I have the original sunroof button somewhere, but never worked out how to seal the Perspex well enough to make it worthwhile fitting it.
