The EU was a good thing for Britain as it would protect us from a far right government that we are about to be landed with.

The EU was not perfect by any means, but it did serve a purpose.

certainly did... the stats of who voted to exit are pretty scary... it was all people with low level education and pensioners... leaving behind the people who actually pay taxes and grow the economy! reckon there is a lot of immigration from England to Australia right now, just wait!

doubt it.... I bet there will be a lot of renewed pushing for a republic - the UK economy isn't going to have a lot going for it for a while

Here is the AU to UK currency over the past week...

I don't think the point of this thread was a political and economical commentary of the vote, more a hopefulness that mini parts might become slightly cheaper. Of course the are more important issues than this, but this is a mini forum and we're all mini mad!

Oh this is awesome. As a mini fan I've had trouble dealing with the brits, just couldn't get good service...as an engineer I've seen them working really hard to rebuild the industry and the economy. I tend to agree the brexit is a cream case of the tail wagging the dog. Still waiting for oldskool to send me parts from years ago. Maybe they'll realise service happens after they get your money as well.

It does look like England has woken up with a hangover and started wondering what they did last night!
Your comments about a rightwing government looks likely to happen too.
I doubt that much will change in the Sterling/AU$ exchange rates as they have been about the same for the last 15 years.
Don't take too much notice of the stock exchange movements; they are like a mob of sheep in a paddock - they don't know why they are doing what everyone else is doing.
