Hi guys,

I just got my mini and i know theres things wrong with it but just trying to identify what it is.

My mini will not rev at all now, I turn it on and it wont even rev at all and sounds like its starving of fuel. I have been told my mechanical fuel pump is leaking but is this the issue or would it be the carby?

Thanks in advance guys

When pushing accelerator and it hesitates to rev then it's fuel pressure or lack of. Could be that the ful pump is leaking and or diaphragm has carked it. Sort out fuel pump.

Battery nothing to do with revving, once it's going alternator provides the power unless alternator is also not charging too (your mini should have alternator warning light)

probably the condensor,

i`ve actually no idea because the car is not here in front of me
so i`m guessing,,, simply because we don`t have enough information from you currently
to be able to give you an accurate diagnosis
but my guess is the condensor :-)

who`s next to have a guess? :-)

The fuel pump is def stuffed. Ill change that first or get an electronic one set up.

Piss the points and condenser off and fit Electronic Ignition.

get it to a trustworthy mini mechanic to start with, get everything sorted out as is and then any upgrades you make will be from a known good starting point. Crazy to try and solve problems by changing things without actually knowing what's wrong to begin with....

it could just as easily be a blocked fuel filter, but you might jump and spend $$$ on a snazzy distributor to find nothing has changed

Yes...great days, the NSW "rugby union thug" learned how to play Aussie Rules and beat them at their own game (....sometimes!)

Seriously tho, with little to go on...your question could go on for pages and your Mini still wouldn't rev...best idea might be to ask once again for someone or a group to come around and check a few things... :D
