I have small hands and I hated changing my mec pump so when the engine was next out I blanked it off and installed a electric one. You can also wire in a cut off switch for the elc pump which can be an extra safety measure. Do a bit of research on the wiring involved, it really isn't that hard.
My vote is definitely an electric pump.

The little Facet pumps are the way to go. I had put in a cheap one years ago, which was faultless, but it seems that the genuine branded ones are much cheaper than they were, so I'd go a genuine Facet for sure. Mount it in the rear subframe. Correct orientation should be adhered to. Mount on exhaust rubber cotton reels.

Due to pure ignorance, the one I bought was too high in pressure for SU's! It left me stranded with an empty tank! I simply installed one of those round dial type regulators in the engine bay and it worked a treat. I might actually do the same in the future for other Minis (the Crudman needs a leccy pump BAD!).

hi guys sorry if this has been done to death on here, but I would like to know the difference between the two?

I have heard that the Mechanical one is good but isnt as 'powerful'. But is much easier for me to replace myself.

I am an amateur remember ha!!

Thanks all

Quickest way to move on to other things and get your Mini going would be to replace the existing fuel pump with a new one...it ain't really that hard to do...sure small hands would be an advantage, but not on short arms!
