Hi all,

Can the front number plate mount for morris minis be bought new? If yes, where from?

Ryan

I took mine off and replaced it with a piece of flat bar to mount my historic plate.
Old 1970 mount is yours if wanted.

Thanks, doc,

I'm also looking for options to mount my historic plates as well.
Mind sending me a pic?
Does the number plate sit below the bumper now?

I mounted mine on a piece of flat aluminium bar from Bunnings.
I did the same for the rear as I did not want to drill extra holes in the car.

Thanks for the reply michael. I thought about doing that, but number plate mount isn't in very good condition and looks pretty ugly. I could always have a new mount made up, they aren't very complex, but id prefer to find a simpler option.

You could remove the plate holder and just use a bar like Michael used, just on the lower bolts under the bumper?

Yes mine is now below the bumper, looks better IMO. Will take a pic tomorrow.
It is just a piece of zinc coated 30x3 flat bar, painted black. 2 end holes for the front panel brackets and 2 for the plate.

Took a photo, uploaded to the Macbook Air. Bloody latest incarnation of Photos won't share nice with flickr. Wish I hadn't updated the oS from mavericks. :(
Anyhow, it just looks like the couple of pics shown above.

[edit] imported it off the camera instead.
