A lot of the mini manuals use diagrams from the UK and they are not exactly the same as our cars.

There is one here for the 1973-1975 Clubman. A little easier to read with pretty colours. http://media.wix.com/ugd/eda60d_cb0d9ce ... dcc35d.pdf

Thanks mate mines a 78 australian made clubman (i think they all were?)

Just in case-

Is your circuit board correct for the instrument pod that you have? 2 pod (no tacho) and 3 pod (with tacho) require different circuit boards.

When you say no lights. Do you have headlights, Interior light, Parking lights? or is it just the cluster back lights.

If you don't have backlighting inside the cluster it could be the (Panel Light Rheostat). There should be a small black dial attached to the bottom dash rail in front of your right knee. The black knob is marked with a "P". This is the dimmer for the cluster back lights. To test it is the problem you can pull one of the wires off the back and touch it to the other one.

Do the indicator lights work outside the car - is it just the dash indicator lights not working?

sounds like you`re computer-savy enough to click onto this mini forum, so my suggestion is to google "asuto electrics" near your suburb & have a mobile auto-sparky pop around to sort it for you

auto electrics are not rocket sience or brain surgery, it`s all pretty straight forward (when you know what you`re doing)
just saounds like you`re spending an awfull amount of time, frustrating yourself no-end instead of just calling a sparky

it doesn`t have to be a mini-savy sparky, just an auto-sparky would do

there`s plenty of help here but seems you`re taking it upon yourself to make decisions spending time & money without diagnising the problem first

diagnosis is the first step,,,

please don`t get me wrong here,,, i help all mini people , all across the world, but you need some structure some diagnosis & some planning before just jumping in ripping stuff out & replacing stuff willy-nilly

keep level headed, stay tuned, stay focuses & get it diagnosed properly first,,, Then fix it from that "correct-Diagnosis"

then you will be able to enjoy driving your trouble free mini :-)
cheers, chin up
it`s work out, it`s just a small silly little issue i`m sure
Matt

The interior light and horn come off the same fuse. These are purple wires. Have you cleaned up the fuse contacts and spade terminals. This is the first and easiest thing to do. Get yourself a multimeter. They start at about $10.

No I havent cleaned these up, how do I do that? sorry to be a pain?

Ill grab a multimeter from bunnings on weekend. What are the spade terminals? (Sorry im a very very amateur noob but willing to learn and would love to do as much as i can myself)

I replaced the inline fuse as well behind firewall, do i need to clean these as well?

Disconnect the battery first. A spade terminal refers to the shape of the connector at the end of a wire. The fuse box has maybe 10 or 12 wires connected with these push on spade connections. They get dirty and corroded over time.
I use a small wire brush or sand paper to clean the dirty metal contacts. Spray them with some wd40 or similar.

Will give that a crack tomorrow thanks. I still am bedazzled as to why there is not even 1 light working....

Could it be that little block ( voltage stabalizer or something?) on the back of the circuit board? That would make sense

Do one at a time so you dont mix up the wires. The multimeter can be used to confirm that 12 volts is getting from one side of the fusebox through the fuse and out the otherside into the green and purple wires. You can also check continuity of the fuse with a muiltmeter. Best to leave the multimeter questions for another time.
