Can anyone give some advice on a primary gear 24 teeth for 998 1.5" crank
I have figured there's a front and rear bush in there and the front seems to be worn around about 20thou book says it should be 3 to 4 thou. i have measured this with a vernier ( if this is ok).
Is it best to get a new gear and if new is the gear ready to go without needing line boring ?
Or is it better to replace both bushes and get line bored ?
Or since the rear bush is good and the front is not ! can this be removed and a floating fitted so no machining is necessary ?
I know its a lot of questions but I would appreciate the feedback or what others have done in this situation.

Usually the front bush wears more than the rear.
Front bush for a 998 gear is NLA now. You can use a rear bush there with the flange removed. It needs boring after fitting. Fit rear one too if worn.
Floating front bush only fits 1275 gear.
New gears are ready to fit.

24T is a common A series primary gear (not an A+). You could just find a good S/H one. Plenty about.

Thanks drmini
sounds like its easier to get a good second hand one or a new one as line boring sounds like the machine shop would charge heaps anyway. Don't know why you can't buy recon second hand ones ?
