Hi all what's the best and eaisiest way to get the stainless chrome moulds on around the door frame. Without damaging the door paintwork or adjacent panels

I was interested to see the posts that were made in here...maybe no-one has found a way of doing it without damaging the door paintwork. I certainly scratched the bejeesus out of the paint under the chrome trim that went on the door surrounds as they are such a tight fit.

I'm sure some of the other mistakes I made are avoidable though and I'm shitty that I did them - eg the sharp corners of the outside chrome strip that runs horizontally along the bottom of the window aperture and quarter window. It left a mark you can see too, dammit :(

I can't do links, but search "How do you remove door chrome" 31 Aug 2014 in Mini Chat;
also "Stainless metal door trim round nose" 23 May 2016.
Both include replacement suggestions.

Thank you Scoop.
You are obviously under 60!
Where do you get the view topic and data?

Where the "www.ausmini.com/forums" link at the top of the page is, just select all the text, then copy and paste.

E.g. this page is:
"http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=93594"
The forum then changes the website link to look like below.
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=93594

Bill - and just in case you unaware of the keyboard shortcuts ... :wink:

On a Windows computer hold down the Ctrl key and press the C key to copy the highlighted text to the clipboard. Put your insertion pointer where you want the data pasted, hold down the Ctrl key and press V to paste the clipboard contents.
