Hi all. I have one of the ARA5000 radiators ( http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... A5000.aspx ).

I have two questions please:

1 the rad shipped with a 7lb cap. Is that too low? What do you guys run and recommend?

2 I am installing an overflow/recovery bottle. What volume is required? There is a neat one that is 550mls, is that big enough?

Cheers :)

Morbo

Early cars had 7lb caps and later ones 13lbs. Also the standard cap isn't a recovery bottle type which would need checking on the A/M one. Another thing is the original caps were longer than your 'normal' radiator caps.
So maybe the new radiator uses a standard style cap and if so, and if it isn't a recovery one, you won't have a drama getting the right one. 500mls might be a tad small but only testing will tell.

Thanks Pererb. L pick up a 13lb recovery cap. The existing one is recovery type (7lb). So I just looked up the specs of my exact cap and am getting the 13lb version.

I'll see what dimensions of overflow will work.she's Gunna be a tight fit in the engine bay :)

just double check the seal height on the cap is right. The rovers have the expansion bottle under the guard, held in by shock mount..... just a thought.
