Read the top section of this:

http://www.elevenhundred.com/colours.htm

Lillee is Cadet Blue (original colour) and it has a plate on the firewall with a Berger Paints code! According to this it means she was made 1969 onwards!!!

My rego paper says 1968 so I thought that was it and was done with it. Now I am going to have to check! Where are the date places again? Boot lock, wiper motor, wiper blades? where else?

Well if this is true then.... :?

Maybe your car was built in 1968 but is a 69 model.
That would explain it.
Heaps of cars are built at the end of a year to the specs for the following year.
Just an idea.

rego papers are not the 'be all end all' for putting a date on a pre 71 car. Some just guess a year when registering a car. i have heard someone do exactly that!

Those of us old enough to remember the Who, may also remember pictures of lily.
There was a good doco on Keith Moon (moon the loon) on the weekend - can't remember if it was channel 2 or cable though.

yea....I mean on average a mini is what....35 years old....it is likely a wiper motor is changed in that time! Yours especially Chong, since your car was a race car in a previous life

That is exactly my worry! How can you tell for sure!?

In fact, I know almost for a fact that Lillee was raced in her previous life so who knows what sort of a past she has...

I know this much about Lillee's past:

1) I am at least the 3rd owner. The last owner suspects at least have been 2 owners before him (I am at least the 4th owner)
2) She used to be Cadet blue, then Jet red with a white roof (by the "2nd" owner), now classic red with a white roof (by the last owner before me)
3) She used to have another engine other than her original De Luxe 998 3 synchro remote. I am pretty sure Lillee has had more than 3 engines but for sure she's had: The original 998, a 1275 (or there abouts) with disc brakes and all, and the current 1098 that's in her now.
4) She has had at least 1 cam change via the side radiator grille entry method...
5) She used to have S overiders, bullbar, possibly a sump guard and Hella spotties in the front
6) She used to have a smiths pod mounted tacho on the indicator shroud
7) She's wearing LS contessas which were common with racing guys to maintain the stock no flares look and still have S brakes under the wheels. These contessas has stress cracks which is an indication that it could have been raced...

That's about it...

Well well.. I would think that judging by the Berger sticker you may have a very late deluxe, first few months of '69, or perhaps as previously suggested, a 1968 build called a 1969 model. BMC started off with Dulux (Dulon) then went to Berger Duracryl in 1969, before heading back to Dulon for the oddly named Clubman colours (Scarlet O'hara etc). My car is a mid-69 K with Duracryl Mist Green, but my Deluxe (sep/oct 68 ) was Sierra Beige Dulon. Also, you are using the Morris 1100 site, great site, but the times for introductions of colours may not be exactly the same.

Chong, give me the body number (off the firewall, if none stamped there gimme the rad shroud one) and I will ask my contacts..

Does it have a BMC body plate, or just a paint code sticker?
They made Deluxes up to March 69 I think, so yea it could be a `69er'.. :P

i thought all mini deluxe's had the wipers that parked on tha drivers side like 850's, coopers and cooper "S" MKI and all others mini K and MKII "S"
all parked on the passengers side of the screen.

so it maybe a Mini K
