Change came in 68 if I remember right. Before K came out. I had a 68 S that parked on LH side. So there was some overlap.

I dunno what to think anymore!!! It's like owning a car I don't even know! I am pretty sure the wiper motor is original...

My wipers park leaning away from the driver's side... ie. on the passenger side...

OMG! If it's a 69 car, and the wipers are Cooper S way around... then what does that mean!?!? There is no right hand tank though so did any S's come without right hand tanks?!

The body number which is on the Rego paper is YC2S14945 but I don't trust the rego papers as far as I could spit! I am nearly 100% sure that the radiator is not original. Where abouts is the number on the radiator shroud?

The number is on the LH inner guard shroud, next to the rad...
BTW any body with 2S1 on it is an 850.. or a Cooper..

chong, only MKII s had the wipers on the passengers side.

the number Kev is talking about is on the body itself the shroud spot welded to the inner guard (on the outside of the radiator)

The rego paper says YC2S14945 but I had a good look at it just now (cleaned it up and all) and it could very well be YG2S14945

The mini spares australia parts book doesn't have YC2S1 but does have YG2S1, in which case it's a Mini K!!!

The 1 is very obscure... it looks strange and could be a 4, in which case it's a Cooper S MkII!!!! OMG I have a bitsa Mini!

Only `69 cars on had the body type prefix (before the #) on the rad shroud, earlier just had a prod code & number. Sounds like it's a K then. No Rh tank....

Pretty sure it aint a S... as the MkII's came with right hand tank etc.

What are the trademark differences for a Mini K? how can I tell if it's a real mini K or not? I am pretty darn sure the shroud is original but I will only find this out when I take the radiator out to put the cam in. The doc should be able to discern if it's the real deal or a weld job.

In any case I have discovered today that it's probably not a 68 Deluxe but a 69 K! Or better a 69 Cooper

2) Did they make K's in 1969 and did they come in Cadet Blue?

I just looked at all the old photos of Lillee and found the original ad that the old owner saw in the paper to buy Lillee from the previous owner to him and it reads from 1st April 1999 trading post (April fools day eidition )

K came out in March/April 69. I think....
K had a 1098, 4 synchro box, 3.647 diff, temp & oil pressure gauges. F'all else different, really.
Oh the tail lamps were 2 screw Lucas Aust ones, not the 3 screw Pommys.
And they dropped the overriders off the bumpers I think, same with MiniMatic (which by then was an auto K, body wise).

I have the 2 screw lucas tail lights not the 3 screw ones. Did deluxe's come with 3 screw ones?

So deluxe came with 998cc 3 synchro remote and 3.67 diff as well right? What did the K's have on the boot? "Morris Mini 1100"? or "Morris Mini K"?

Boot badge on K says `Morris Mini 1100'.
