 Post subject: slipping out of fourth

mini keeps slipping out of fourth when going down hills and stuff. did it like 7 or 8 times today. why is it doing this? how can i fix it?

If it`s "Puddin stirrer" then it might be as simple the ebgine steady bar bushes, but, for some reason , i have a feeling it`s a later model box & the problem is "inside" the box ...Yukky

Yeah,well,,,then i`d expect you have some internal work pending :-)

maybe,,,but then, i`ve no idea what i`m talking about tonight, HHhhhmmmm,,,,think it`ll be your 4th gears is rooted & maybe will need at least a full set of bearings, syncros, a ley shaft, maybe even a main shaft if the spiggot brg, single row brg & the outrigger brgs have shat themselves , maybe even a 3rd/4th selector fork if it`s gone on too long :-)

dam!!!!!,,,some times i just hate knowing all this crap, dam i hope i`m wrong ,,,,now there`s a first :-)

argh, full gearbox rebuild for you, $1500 for a drive in drive out..
who sold you the car again?, it wasnt doing anything like that when you test drove it was it?
