Hey Guys,

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a herritage shell or one of those fiberglass shells they sell in th UK registered in Australia? I have thought about the typical routes and I dont think it would be possible but would you be able to register it as a hot-rod or something similar? I have noticed that there are a lot hot-rods in street machine etc that have new bodies from the US, so obviously they have found a way to do it.

It would help if you updated your profile to show where you are located ...mate

The suggestion to use a donor car is a good one....

I know of an instance in the USA where a Heritage Shell has been registered as a 1969 Mini based on the wiper motor and a few other things....

I should have stated 'legaly registered'.... I doubt that one would be very successful in transfering ID plates especially when windows and doors are different sizes, internal hinges etc. I was just wonderin if anyone knew of how theses hot rodders get around it ie special provisions?
