Hi there,

I'm going to look at a pre 74 mini with hydrolastic over the weekend that has been garaged for 10-15 years with minimal driving in between.

What sort of deterioration is considered "normal" in cars stored for this long. I'm assuming, seals, fuel lines, brake lines (maybe), Hydro, carbie - stuff like that but I'm not really sure.

How much work would you think to get a car like this back on the road if it has been stored reasonably well?

I know it's a fairly generic question with many possible answers but I'd appreciate all opinions from this forum.

Thanks,
BC :)

I would say anything that is rubber, anything that is "gasket material" and anything that should have been moving that hasnt been moving would deteriorate. All depends on the storage conditions... dryness, temperature, humidity.

I certainly have my fingers crossed for you though.

Best thing about buying a Mini is that EVERYTHING can be fixed...
