fitted alloy rocker cover.....adjusted rockers.....still noise. I think it's the cam followers. They are new.....so why are they noisy?

Kev, is it to do with the RE13 cam?

Did you bed in the cam and followers? I think you have to do this with new followers and cam? Something like run for 5 mins on 2000rpm at idle. Might have nothing to do with the noise actually...

Hey don't feel too bad, my whole timing chain is really noisy as well as my rockers... what can I say, it's a mini engine :wink:

Gaf, there is no need to adjust those rockers until say the 11th of Sept :P ;) .....I heard 20thou is good! :lol:

Anton as I said before it's a feature of the cam. Opening ramps are faster. Many sporty A series cams do the same to get performance. Heard a 649 race cam?? :lol:

No, they are worse if anything. Most have sloppy shaft bushes when you buy them. And some have crap rollers that wear out quick smart.

These cams are made to run at largeer clearance so that the acceleration off the seat is fast- as Vizard says, the A series likes this for power production.

Some of the latest race cams run .023" rocker clearance, and have heaps of lift, too. Not for the street... :shock:

the latest 308 cam runs 28thou clearance.
make sure the rckers are not hitting the top of the rocker cover.
