Just got back from tha wreckers where I picked up a 2 sets of calipers and ONE disk. I'd be b***ered if I could pull the hub on the drivers side. Got about half way and stuck Even used the BFH with no luck. The passenger side just came off normal. I ran out of time as they were closing,

Best part though is when I went to pay the guy says "How much were you quoted?" and I said $25 (forgot to say per wheel  ) and that is all he took

Kevin have you seen this site? http://www.dba.com.au/dba_catalogue_2004/HTML/Standardseries/standard_index.htm

The disc rotors I picked up are DBA188 - would there be any advantage to get the correct Mini versions or wont they fit? Or if staying with the Honda pick up some new discs that are closer to the finished diameter required?

Yeah I've got it. I think we used #191- 44mm wide x 12mm thick.

If you go with 12" wheels leave them stock diameter. If going with 10" wheels turn them down to 7.9".

No good using S discs, totally different- they won't fit your drum drive flanges or CVs...

I good question. I'm still tossing up between 12" and 10" wheels. This is the order which I"m prioritising:

1) No Flares. I really don't want flares.
2) 10" wheels. They look more 'original' and the superlights look better as 10's than 12's I reckon.
3) Price. Extra cost/effort involved in modifying the calipers/pads to go underneath 10" wheels compared with just leaving the whole setup stock when you go under 12" wheels.
4) Stopping power. I don't drive it that hard and they'll kick arse over drummies.

So ultimately I'd like no flares and 10" x 5" Performance Superlites. How much extra effort is involved in getting the brakes under 10's and how much stopping power do I loose?

To fit Hondas (turned down to 7.9") under any 10" mag wheel you are looking at spacers. 25mm for Contessas (Mini offset- S ones won't fit), 19mm for Speedy Hotwires (as they are offset out more- about 1/4"). A little bit of grinding is needed to the pad bracket, pin lugs/caliper and the outer pad. No big deal- no fluid in this part.
You WILL need flares though.

12" Performance mags will bolt straight on stock 9" discs without any spacer, you won't need flares as it's all further inside the wheel. If you detest flares, this would be my choice.

Either system without servo will stop better than S ones without servo, on the road at least. Nobody's hit the track with them yet that I know of.

Is that for new ones or s/h?

If new, that's 1/2 the price of S rotors...
