Well I've almost got everything running nicely. Just a few things:

When I start the car I have to start it with the choke out, but I have to put it back in or hold my foot on the accelerator... it seems to idle really slowly with the choke out. So I'm just using it for a few seconds then letting the car warm up without the choke. Could the choke be giving too much fuel and flooding the engine?

Also when I turn the engine off it turns over a few times and a really strong smell of petrol comes through - the idle is set too high at the moment, I think this is partly why the engine turns over a few times, so I'll adjust that and see how it goes, but whats with the really strong smell of petrol?

Other then that everythings working
Thanks people!

Too much fuel can make the engine run crap (ie slow). Maybe it isn't that though, so check the little screw that moves the throttle when ya pull the choke out.

Our old KE55 Corolla "ran on" when the car was warm and the choke was out a little. Running on is usually a sign of the car running rich.

Ahh... I think I'm probably running it a bit rich.. I adjusted the carbys to what I seemed right, then I made them both a bit more rich, just incase.. decided it'd be safer to run it a bit rich the lean. I probably made them a bit TOO rich though. I'll go check all this out now, thanks again.
