^^ Another chain mail done to death - substitute Petro Canada with Caltex, and you have the Aussie version that came around when prices hit the $1/L.

It plays on people's need to feel that they are in control of their lives and their environment, and can act to influence all parts of their lives. Jibba jabba over.

So we all band together and refuse to buy petrol on the 22nd.
How much will petrol be on the 23rd? My bet is it would go up because the demand will be higher.

The point is not that the total amount of petrol will be effected but the fact that petrol production is a 24/7 operation and can't be stopped and started to meet demand. Australia holds about 3 days reserves so we would have to stop buying for THREE days and the tanks at the refinaries would overflow - now that would worry the companies. The companies control the flow with the prices - tanks full -lower the price and people buy. Tanks empty increase the price and people slow down purchases and tanks fill up.

Meh. Whatever. I need petrol, i buy it. Pretty simple. You cant control multinational companies... That is why they are so big. Now almost no-one can stop them.

Oh well. I paid 1.38 a litre this morning and i thought to myself 'bastards.' and then i happily went inside, paid the attendant, and drove off to work. Chuffed because i wasn't the guy on the other side of the pump filling up his V8 VP Commodore. He didn't get to work any faster than me, but it cost him twice as much. Ahhh yes, the Mini- The car created because of high oil prices. :D

Actually a better way to teach them a lesson is set their gonads on fire with the petrol they stole.. Might have more of an impact.
