I have not seen it but have been offered a round nose 850 with sliding windows plus a 1275 block and head and a few other parts for $1000. What does anyone reckon? I suspect it would be worth it for the parts alone and the car (running) a bonus

Sounds good to me does the 1275 go? if so go for it.

I suspect that what you suspect is right :D ie it would worth that in parts alone

so long as it's not a pile of rust, GO FOR IT!

The 1275 will be an added bonus 8)

The 1275 needs a rebuild, but I would have done that anyway, cost about $300 as a mate is an engine rebuilder. Apparently the car is not too bad. I may have too mortgage a kidney for the last $100 - $200 ( I am a student...) but I'll find a way to go up with the cash to do a deal on the spot. Then I'll just need to organise a car trailer (sigh).

It can be a pain living in the country!

Not much better in the (qasi)city!
I can't even get a free trailer since Coates Hire sold all theirs off
(something about liability & chinese tow balls) :(

Got a tandem that will fit a mini - was thinking about making some ramps.

PM me if you get stuck, but you'd have to bring the trailer back... :)

Will do Mike, my problem at the moment is that however I look at the books I won't have quite enough cash, will probably have to make on offer.
I know I can afford the car, but I want that 1275 as well 8)
I havent looked for a car trailer around here before, might have a quick look around this arvo.
