hmmm...

My car is almost ready to zing along...I'm now worried about the whole cruse thing.

I'm hoping , just because you're in a cruise with bunch of other tin bricks, that I have to feel obligated to..

- Pull up at the lights with 2 cm between the car in front and behind..
- Drive along footpaths..
- Zing about with the e-brake..
- Swerve about in the one lane like a loon..

Now, I'm all for having fun (legal or the other one ;) ) but, and i'm not finger bang.....erm... pointing , but i the thought that i may get caught up in a nasty blue and white situation, while i'm out on a cruise, doesn't really fill me with a supreme desire to join in on the cruises.

I'm by no way as sensible a driver as i should be (as determined by the SCDA). And, as i said, i'm all seeing what a car can do (city to home - 32 minutes ) but i think when it happens in a mob , and when there's an affliation with a group ( be it ausmini or p-platers) the damage is proportional to the number of participants. Image

There's so many ways to have a massive time and not befoul the law.

bah... i'm all out of rant juice...

Am I making sense or am I just getting old?

Just because everyone else does it, doesn't mean you have to. Cruises are fun even if you dont act like a tool, and you shouldn't have to miss out. You shouldn't feel obligated to act like a tool when you're in a cruise, and if people want you to be like that, well thats peer pressure.

DONT GIVE IN TO PEER PRESSURE!

i'm not saying i'll feel the need to join in the frivolity.... but if you're in a group that's doing it and you're paid a visit from her majesty's finest, then i'm sure you'd be lucky to get away without being spoken to ....

accessory and all that

Then Choose the company you keep a little better

Seriously though, we had around 20 cars on a cruise halfway across Sydney to Gannons Park for our show and the only problem we had was some of the back markers going too slow and getting left behind.

On Official car club runs, anyone acting like a dickhead is asked to stop, and if they persist they are asked to part company from the group. It isn't that hard, and you'll find you get more admiring stares than anything when in a convoy of Minis - it's fun driving in a group even jusy for that reason 8)

Was that kittykat acting as the rev limiter / handbrake / fun police with the disapproving comments on the video? :)

one reason why I dont regularly attend cruises.
its kind of dissapointing and sets a bad example to the club when people do the wrong thing on public roads - whether it be speeding, lane chopping and overtaking stupidly (all things ive experienced in the very few years as a member of vmci)

I'd much rather take my slow ass van for a nice drive by myself and not have to worry bout conforming to other peoples standards and do the wrong thing

Cushy;
If you are that worried about the po-lice, maybe you should wear the following t-shirt at the cruise?
