Welcome aboard mate,

Its not so much that most classic mini owners dont like the new MINI owners, just the ones that drive the new MINI because its 'IN FASHION'

**Cough, South Yarra, Cough**

Well that has been my veiw of it!

thanks for the welcome rohan
yeah i know what u mean abt that...the reason i drive a new MINI is because once it came out i fell in love with the looks and the way it drives - i got totally into the MINI thing, waving at people on the street, going to shows and runs, participating in forums etc but i didn't know much abt the old mini until i got one and found out more abt the history and got interested in them too. now suddenly there seem to be WAY too many new MINIs around and the people aren't friendly and they don't take pride in their cars - they just drive them coz they're cool - probably going to move on to whatever car is cool next time round as well...sad really...
i wanted to find out more abt the mini roots, so i started doing some research on classic minis and found that same passion for cars on classic mini forums as well so here i am :) hopefully one day i can find a decent classic that's afordable and i can share in that passion too :)

cheers
wils

If you're interested, wils, there's a few new MINI owners who turn up to the VCMI social nights, which run every 2nd wednesday (keep an eye out in the events section)
Also, poeee and i run a geelong social night every third wednesday (also look in the events section) and a lot of mini and MINI people turn up to that, as well.
At these you'll be able to meet up with other MINI owners who bought them because of the cars history, not just because they're fashionable.

oh, and welcome to ausmini.

Hi all, My name is Bryan and I've just registered. I have had a look around the forum a few times and thought I might as well join up and put in my 2cents worth. My car/baby is The Nullarbor Express and is named so for a very good reason... I bought it in Perth a couple of years ago as barley registered and barley roadworthy!! Now of course not much has changed but it has had a lot of mechanical work done since... I drove the from Perth to Melbourne and then from Melbourne to Cairns and back to Melbourne where we live. Anyway look forward to chatting... you can see some pics of the 'express' at http://www.minipark.net/car.html?Car_ID ... 6b634f160d [/img]

Hi all,

I'm 18, and I'm planning on purchasing a mini in the very near future (anyone selling??).
i have loved mini's for as long as i can remember, and i can't wait till i can have one of my own to restore!

I live in parramatta, wel just outside but not many people actually know of Rydalmere, there are not many mini's in my area, apart from on red Cooper S, which sounds absoulty awesome

thankyou

craig
