Went to "Woop Arse Wednesday" at the drags for the first time last night.

Claeten (one of the SDMC guys) ran his bog standard 1098cc with extractors
You need quicktime for this one:
http://members.dodo.com.au/~clarke_npmm/mike/pics/claeten_drags.3gp

He was a real crowd pleaser, with the slowest times of the night:
21.4
20.9
19.9 @ 105kph

Even one of the tow trucks had a run and pulled a 17.7 second pass

Here is a video poorboy_racer sent me:

http://members.iinet.net.au/~brandt/videos/MiniV8Camaro.AVI

The camera work on this is a little better, and this mini is a lot quicker.

What time did this run :?:

It was taken with the video setting on our digital camera. Unfortunately no zoom function on video, but it ran a 17 but had a crappy twin Hitachi carb set up. Should go better with the 45 Webber thats now on it. Im keen to run my new bike (ZX12) at the fast fridays. My wife has expressed some interest in running the mini.
They are changing the format for fast fridays this year. With something like 6 qualifying rounds (was about 4 last year) and people pulling the top 4 package (dial in and reaction times) go though to race at the end. Personally I prefered the way they did it last year. But every one still stands the same chance regadless of car.

have you run it yet (with the webber) what engine you running?? i say we should set a date that all of us can get down there and have a go. if we get enough people we might be able to get our own lane.
i am free wednesday nights from now on. just let us know when you guys are free

Nope, not run it with the webber.
If we get 7 or more cars they will give us our own lane (have done this before with a ute club).
The weds night street meets are good but I prefer the fast fridays as its proper dial your own handicap bracket racing and you dont need an ADRA licence. Fast fridays also carry points and get trophys/prizes at each meeting and at the end of season for top points.
Our clubbys a 1330 with Road race cam, 3 core rad, extractors and the webber. Incidently got the webber with manifold off Ebay quite cheap. Mind you the postage was an arm and a leg :x
