Pissing down raining on the way to work at 5:30am (in my youth).
Dark. Hit this big puddle at the bottom of a hill - cars grinds to a halt.
I rev it so it doesn't stall, and have to grab the gearstick boot because water is coming in.
Then the engine stalls & I notice the back of the car is floating
So I pick up my timing light, etc & put them on the parcel shelf & get out.
Water gushes in over my lap as I open the door.
Reaches bottom of dash :(

The drains at the bottom of the hill had blocked up, filling the valley.
Walked (soaked) to work.
Another mini driver who got caught later had my car towed out by the time I got back there :)

Our Mini doesnt go in the rain period :)..

In fact even if it looks like it is going to rain Granny does'nt come out of the garage..

Same here but i can't always predict the weather accurately enough and sometimes she gets wet.

My carpet is all damp if you lift it up... can't be good for it.

I don't know how to stop the water coming in when i wash the car. Can you buy new seals for the windows, doors, quarter windows etc? If so, i may have to invest in some.

The problem with the left door is that i think it's not adjusted properly or bent because even when it's closed you can see light through the gap at the top. :?

The distributor problems can be cured by keeping the outside of the dizzy and plug leads clean and fitting a splashguard. Mine is a plastic ice cream tub.

I once drove though about 8" of water in my 1275LS and the water builds up between the motor and the firewall ....... Straight into the air filter! (Cooper S type) Beware, the fuel economy drops off with soggy air filters.

I like the rubber glove over the distributor method.
Five HT leads, five fingers to put them through.

Looks so cheap, it's cool.
