Here is the latest Bulletin from CAMS (relates to Group S, but worth reading)

what type are minis?

For Conventional Safety Cages
(e.g. V8 Supercars, Group N Rally, Production Cars)

or

For Spaceframe and Solo Rollbar Vehicles
(e.g. Formula Ford, Formula Vee, Sports Sedans, Class 8 Off Road)

i am assuming its the first one...but i thought it'd be best to ask...

Conventional, unless you're planning one of those mid-mounted bike engined mini racers :)

Andrew, if you wanna play at a race track anytime later date, then go the full cage & make sure it`s approved by BOTH --->CAMS & Dpt of Tpt

easy enough to have done now & also easy enough to have it fitted while still retaining the back seat keeping it a 4 seater car

& you know you really want a twin cam turbo right? so don`t muck around with small rod trying to catch small fish,,,, bye a big net & catch all of em :-)

Pohmgolia German rice all the way :-)

well the donk is gonna have to wait for about 12 months...for the moment though the body is almost ready to be shipped off for panel beating and painting...i want the rollcage fab'd and installed prior to painting so that i can get the whole lot painted in 1 go...how long would it take to get a full cage made up and installed? how much weight will it add to the car? and how much will it cost? ballpark figures are fine :P

edit: what the hell is pohmgolia german rice?

Got a quote from Norm Singleton up here in bris...$2200 inc. GST and installation for a 6 point rollcage (bolted in) with any extra bars i want :P DoT and CAMS approved

side intrusion bars are ILLEGAL according to Dept of Transport (stupid i know) but you can get bolt-in ones and just remove them for driving around and put them in for a track day...
