TNT should pay for it. I know for a fact if anyone rings up my freight company and complains about their item being damaged the company just pays for it.. no questions asked. They don't care, their insurance covers it, they make enough bloody money anyway.

and freight companys need to learn how to respect other ppls crap i have seen how the wankers work at different freight companys oh the pallet wont fit stuff it rev
makka

Yep, thats exactly how it's done at my work.. Just throw crap here throw crap there, not our problem just get it to whatever state it's going to as quick as possible... I'm not one of those people though.. I just drive a tug and forklift.. :D I have respect.

Forget TNT. You won't get anything out of the freight company. We ship stuff all over the place at work and have never got a cent out of a freight company for there stuff ups. We have even got stuff back that has clkearly been run over. At my work we take responsibility for the delivery and have our own insurance to cover it. This supplier should also be covered by his own insurance and must take responsibility for this. Go the supplier its his problem.

I work for a major freight company and the way it works at our place is that damaged goods should be returned to the sender who then complains to the freight company (you can assist by claiming damages too).
The sender should send you out new panels because it wasnt packed properly for shipping anyways.
Next time you sign for goods write S.T.C next to your signature on the con-note

Im sorry if you have already paid the sender that just makes thimgs harder on your part maybe they can invoice you next time after you recieve the parts/

Well you have every right to be pissed off! Freight companies are careless definately, but the seller definately has a responsibility here also. Hope you get it sorted!

I believe the company who sold me these goods should be the ones who chase it up with the courier, as it was THEM who consigned the courier to deliver the goods, NOT ME.

I also believe that any decent business should refund money straight away. Look at the goods for gods sake.....totally useless. My wife said they could have easily left the business like that....which is a good point!

I made a point of telling the business this evening that they had a good reputation for customer service........I hope I see some of that!!!!!

The lesson we can all learn from this is not to assume anything, and buy locally where and when you can.

I too used to work for a freight company - its usually too late after the event as the parcels go through too many hands to pinpoint who to blame. This is why marine transit insurance exists. Rule number one if receiving a couriered delivery - if it looks suss or it really is fragile - make the delivery guy wait while you open and inspect - before you sign for it. I always do....

I dont understand why you cant get the panels in Sydney for the same price as the interstate price + postage. And if u added insurance on that it would have been even worse.

Anyway, it does suck, if you're dealing with who I think you are then.. hmm.. we'll see.

Hoy crap! Not cool.

Whilst i feel for ya JAM, i'm almost glad to see that it isn't just me that gets screwed wherever i turn. You shop at the 'good' places and spend the xtra to do so, yet get a raw deal. Had i have gone to the 'usual' places, i / you probably would've been okay.

Just gives you the shits, doesn't it? Always when you think you're gonna get onto a good thing, too. Just when you wait to show it all off, it all goes pear-shaped.

IS it *? Sorry, had to ask

<edit> Its kinda scary for me that all the people that work at frieght companies all say the same thing: "They dont give a crap" Always good to hear

i'm with you on this, thats a disgraceful attempt at packaging.
you should name them straight away and tell them you have done it.
that way , we will see if they love their reputation enough to protect it (by resupplying ).
surely their goodwill means something to them?
i certainly would not want to purchase anything from a business that cant safely package its own goods.
