the point of the bigger radiator & larger water capacity system is so that the hot water has a longer time to cool down before being pumped back through the engine.
Too high a flow rate doesn't allow the water enough time to absorb the heat from the head, or dissapate it in your U beaut radiator.
Yes, but if my lil' mini one cant push the water all the way there and back again, its all no good. There was this most awesome sports sedan mini at our last show (one centre seat!), had a huge front-mount... And an electric pump. No mech pump, tho... Another race car had a front mount, but always complains of overheating also. I dont think the mini pump is up to the job.
Spaceboy - I'm gonna give it a compression check this weekend. Soon find out with the Head Gasket.
