WELL. Who would've thought i'd need to do an update on this.

REmember this bit? :
Quote:
Well poeee then asked about the other side, then they said that they stuffed the bead on the tyre getting it on the rim and the other side was fine.

well over the last few weeks the left tyre (the supposedly 'fine' tyre mentioned above) has developed a slow leak. Well...not slow, but not fast either. A moderate leak. So he took it off and put the spare on, which has had a slow leak for ****** ages.

So today we take both tyres in to get tubes. poeee tells the man helping us about what the tyre franchise we originally went to had done, and the man immediatly went 'but thats dangerous'. Anyway, he takes the tyres, and said they'd be ready in an hour.

WE go back to pick them up, and he tells us that they had found a 13" tube in the left tyre. THE OTHER PLACE HAD TOLD US THE TYRE WAS FINE!

NOw really. After they screwed up the fright tyre, which could have caused a magor accident, the intelligent thing to do would have been to tell us that they'd done the same on the left tyre, and that if we brought that in they'd fix it. But noooo. They told us the tire was fine. F***ing liars.

But its all good now. 12" tube in a 12" tyre. Thats the way it should be.

But we've learnt our lesson. We're never going to a tyre franchise again, because they dont seem to care.

they were tubeless ones. Unfortunatly, the unnamed tyre franchise wrecked the bead in both tyres, and had to stick tubes in.

They should not call themselves experts.

Well, I went to the 'so called experts' at a tyre place . These guys seem to do alot of hard to get sizes and different brand wheels that beaurepaires and bob janes wont. They helped us out a heap with my dads Mustang. So i go back there, to get 3 A539s. (Thats all they could get overnight from Melb, the other one had to come from Qld)

They jack the car up by the (previously straight) floors, dent 'em all, and do their best to crush the brake lines that run along the bottom of the trailing arm. Only to watch them use second-hand valves from off the workshop floor, use crap clip-on weights, and then over-tighten the wheelnuts so that on my way to the Mallala trackday the next morning, i lose an entire wheelnut and stud still attatched, bouncing down the road. Shite. Brickworx had me all sorted in about 5mins with a replacement nut and stud, but the next day when i called the tyre shop they kinda just went "What do you want us to do about it?" Useless pricks.

For the fourth tyre, i went to Beaurepaires at Edwardstown, the place that Brickworx uses, and i watched everything done as it should. Stick-on weights on the inner of the rim, he asked what pressure i wanted ( other tyre place put in almost 50psi ! ) and then offered to put the wheel onto the car, which i only brought in the boot. This is after he asks me what torque setting i preferred, too, telling me that "these little studs always break if ya do 'em up too tight"

SO, a big endorsement to Beaurepaires @ Edwardstown, SA  Cheers for the help.

endorsements are fine but once againe no bussness names please

Yeah definitely.
I've done a few pick ups & drop offs at Beau's.
They are very efficient, and work hard.

They also are great people 8)

I think people are paranoid when it comes to other people and denting their car
Its just one thing that happens when you give your car to someone else i spose.
If you don't want dents, trailer queen it, stick mirrors under, and rope the **** thing off.

Ok that was harsh.
HARSH BUT FAIR.
