the boys hit the track once more

best ausmini time was whodat with a 1:40 with a worked 1275 w/ weber & discs
then robert with a worked 1100 doing 150's
then aussie and sswannabe doing 1:55's
with a 998 and 1100 respectively all on drums

they're prolly racing and or returning as i type this, so guys, enter your times here

i will post some video action later, including the incident where the falcon hit the wall.

whodat blew his motor up sometime during the first session and it gradually deteriorated during the next two sessions, hopefully he made it home okay.
It was a shame, because stuwey's 1:36 was looking to be in trouble as whodat did a 1:40 in the first session, compared to stuwey's 1:45 in his first session.

aussie and sswannabe battled through session 2 and 3 with very close times, and competitive racing, aussie catching under braking and in the corners, with sswannabe pulling away out of the corners and on the straight with aussie finally getting past at the end of the session with a deep braking manouver into the hairpin.

i didnt go on the track today, i'll need to prepare the motor with new oil/filter and a tune.
instead i donned the media jacket and headed out onto the track to take some videos.

everyone did really well, and improved their times significantly since last time, especially sswannabe who was running 2:03 last time and has knocked 7 seconds off.

okay, last run i did i knocked another seccond off bringing my best to 1.54 8) pushing it pretty hard and span out on the hairpin again

dunno wats happening with hugh, he decided to take it on the track for 'one last go' and he left the track after a few laps with more engine trouble...When i left he was still trying to start the car  , he didnt seem to impressed

yea the day was so much fun, first time out there - first few laps i was pretty nervous and worried about all the other cars zoomin past but it didnt take long and i got the hang of things after realising you just cant take some corners that fast

sorry no pics from me but im looking forward to watchin all the vid's, cheers for doing all that spaceboy

Well apart from the mechaincal issues - I had one of the best days I've had in years. I even enjoyed the over enthusiastic entrance into the Ess's and the less than graceful backwards exit that resulted.

I had my target time and I met that and more so I'm more than happy for my first time out. I can certainly see lots of room for my own improvment in line and length, and some decent rubber would be a help.

And now to the car. We did get it to run again shortly after Aussie left but it was real ugly. Something has let go big time so I had no option but to switch off and put it to bed. The only thing I know for curtain at this stage is that it is engine out time again. :? So Stewie's lap time is safe for few more weeks at least.

I've got a busted motor, no way to get home, and a grin from ear to ear.
Thanks to the ausminiers that step up when needed. Thanks guys you've all done great.

Nah different issue - bottom end let go this time. Silly ne going out again was the first thing I thought - but thinking about it - it prolly would have happened on the way home if I didn't go back out, so at least this way there was ppls areound to lend a hand and help us out

It's all good - just another excuse to get a few more go fast bits inserted while she's not looking   8)

yeah, fair enough if you've got plenty of cash lying around for engine rebuilds, i thought your motor was pretty fresh though?
who built it?

looks like its gonna be a fair bit more expensive than the $70 you paid to get it on the track :(
