Thanks. I wish it was, I'll try n' use a pic of my 1999 Mazda 626 in my avatar pic. I'm using my mini as my daily driver atm cause, 2 weeks ago the nite after my 21st, was waiting at the set of red lights to do a right hand turn when an elderly driver hit the back of my car at 60km/h didn't stop. Later I heard he suffered a mild heart attack. Did $7,500 worth of damage to my car. Should have it back by end of next month.

Bonjour all, am an Aussie living in France, and I proudly own 2 minis, one I have just given to my Father-in-law as a Xmas pressie, he is well wrapped!
Anyway just thought I'd like to join up and support the Oz mini community, despite the fact that I am overseas!

Hope you had a great Xmas and an even better New Years!

Thanks Mike, yep still can manage to get most of the parts I need over here in Frogland. There certainly are plenty of Minis which is great to see. The French have a good Mini community as well, which is a real beaut.
Anyway, I hope to contribute where I can, but judging by the post on the tech forums I am probably a bit out of my depth, so don't expect too much.

Hi all , Just joined and thought I'd say hi . I'm Ian , in the Coffs Harbour region and have been infected with the mini disease for a long time . My current collection (always subject to change ...) includes a genuine '62 sports 850 (running , going onto club plates when I get organised) , a '69 indigo blue windowless van (body's perfect , waiting it's turn in storage) , a '74 Nota Fang (mini based 2 seater sports car , slowly going back together , I bought it as a trailerfull of bits . Haven't we all been there before .....) and an '81 Kraft silver (no idea on the origin of the colours name really , hand written on the paint plate , ex promo car perhaps???) Moke Californian (running and used around yard till it was blocked into shed by Fang .....) and of course the V6 triton ute that serves as mini recovery and collection vehicle .
The sports 850 was registerred when I got it about 14 years ago and I used it on the road for several years before putting it onto club plates in a vintage car club . I'm originally from a bit further north and was one of the originators of the Lismore mini club (aka Cowboy) . The Moke was in use as a road car up until a year or so ago when I decided we had too many rego's (4 between the 2 of us so the moke came off the road , now trying to sell a mazda campervan so I can put a mini on the road ) . Also will soon be selling a clubman van that someone had started converting to a ute , cut the back off , put new , thicker steel sills on and then lost interest . I'll put it on the site when I've finished getting the mechanical's I want , the bodies too good to waste .
Ian

G'day All,

Been lurking here for a while. I'm not a Mini owner, but am an A-Series owner in the form of a 1958 Morris Minor 1000 project.

Here I'm interested in the distributor conversions and a few other basic improvements. I'm currently running a 1-1/2 SU ex Mini and am building up a test engine with 12G202 Head (ported and polished) and AEA630 cam also ex Mini 1100.

My budget is close to bugger-all, so I'm working slowly when time, motivation and budget allow!
