Nope Kev. youre just experienced.

And yea the FAKE cooper S badgng is not helping - I'm not a fan but its there from the previous owner and removing = heaps of small holes just like my grille.

I have been pretty lucky so far with it but you never know. I work in the city and the mini is virtyaly the only thing that you can find parking for at night plus the lifts to 4-5 people in the mini at the end of the night are endless source of enterntainment.

Dam what a terrible shame. Can the damage be fixed easily?

Also doesnt your alarm go off if someone was to bump into your car? Or is it only an immobilizer?

Either way its a real shame and have to agree with others I dont think I would ever park a Mini in the CDB.. I understand as to why you do it. But I personally think a cheap Barina or Swift would be more suited to parking in there than a Mini.

Anyway I hope the damage isnt too bad and you are able to get it fixed without any drama's.
Maybe even ask around to see if anyone seen anything. But no doubt even if someone did see something chances are they wont say anything anyway because we live in such a wonderful world today.

Yea big thanks to Kev who yesterday did much more than just have a look at my car - a legend as usual.

Re the damage - its not severe but is noticeable and how do you straighten any kind of damage on the sill panels without removing them?
and those eye sores add up as you drive a mini everyday with drunken fw*its puling the chrome trim off and little kids and Jap tourists leaning onto it and leaving prints and smudges all over the car. A few months ago I actualy came back to the car parked at Darlinghurst to find two couples with the guys taking photos of the girls siting on my bonnet (ugly girls too). And the attitude was like "well whats your problem its just a bit of fun". I actualy physicaly treated the guys which I havent done in many years.

But I love driving it everyday, for me its the only way to own a classic. If I have to restrict myself to a boring little, senses numbing jap appliance during the week then whats the point to all the strugles to keep the mini on the road and in good condition. If I'm ever not able to drive the mini everyday then I might as well get myself an orig. pop up headlight MX5 (I know many see them as chicks cars but I like them alot). and benefit from air in your hair, rust free, rock solid reliability.

Its

That bit about taking pictures on the bonnet is a shocker, what is wrong with these idiots in failing to recognise that it is a piece of property that is very special to someone.
I am seriously considering getting an alarm with motion sensors (I have a neighhour with an MX-5 that beeps at me everytime I walk past it too closely as a warning that the alarm will go off if I bump it) in order to have some piece of mind when I park it as I've gotten used to the security of parking anonymous, common cars.

Yep, that's the word - respect. Too little of it these days!

If you can afford a second car, get another mini!
Just a shitter on the outside so you won't be worried so much,
and hopefully the bastards will leave it alone.

I'm thinking 'bout putting stripes on mine when I paint it,
but it's this sort of crap that puts me off having the car looking too nice,
especially on a daily driver which is left parked on the streets.
Mine had been car-stompped b4 I bought it.
And I thought they were a toy - that's why i got one!!
