Was just looking for some experiences on repainting a mini - the paintwork is pretty damaged so striping it back is probably required - what sort of ammounts have people here paid? Is budgeting $4,000 for a bare metal strip down and a good quality 2 pack repaint, too low?

how much should I be budgeting for (in Sydney). I wont be able to do any of the work myself as I'm already on 50 hours p/w plus my degree.

depends how much work is needed bodywork wise. the more rust and dints there are the more costly it will be. generally you'd be looking at anything between 4-8k. if its driveable go and get a quote. take it to someone who has done minis before though.

Put your location in your profile. If people know where you are they can help with where to go get a quote etc.

depends how much of the work you can do yourself as well, but $4k sounds like a good budget so long as the body isnt falling apart. Shop around too, get as many quotes as you can, theres just as many good body shops as there are rip-off artists out there.

Buy Anton a few cases of beer, be really REALLY nice to him and ask him to do it for you...

I got two quotes to respray my Mini (roundnose sedan) but i needed to do the prep work. Quotes came in between 1200 and 1500... and that was for undercoats, a couple of layers of paint, over coats, baking, polishing, blah blah blah... I ddint take much notice what they were doing, just the price...
