[Aussie accent ]G'day guys! [/Aussie accent] :D

Just dropping in to say a massive hello from across the globe, up and over here in Northern Ireland, UK. One of our members on our forum ( http://www.mlni.co.uk ) posted a link to your forum so I thought I'd check it out, and say hey!

My names Darren, and I own a '90 City E, with few custom mods.. Lets just say.. work in progress. :?

I've been looking at some Minis from some of your members and damn, they are really something else. You guys seem to go the extra mile or few more when it comes to customisation, it really is good to see what ideas you have up your sleaves.

Your runs look like alot of fun to, we try and get away as much as possible back here, you can check out some of our events and runs on the forum linked above, always loads of pictures!

I might not post alot but I'll be watching in on the forum, bit of a curious lurker.

P.S. LOVE Aussie doors.

hi all

name's George. i'm a bit of a car nut. well a lot actually  i've been in to cars since before i was legally allowed to drive them. god i recall the days when i used to buy Wheels magazines and write in to BMW Australia for info on their cars. i used to dream of owning an 850 back then. anyway, i grew up and found out that those cars are just expensive badges.

since then i've been through some cars. first car was the best though. just a beat up 1985 Ford Laser KB. i gave that thing so much. in the first two weeks i changed 3 engine shafts after my attempts to do burnouts lol. never forget my first car. i feel sorry for the lady that bought it off me. following that i went with some japanese cars. mazda's toyotas etc and then a R33 GTST. see i had that when they were still rare around sydney. it was stock looking and still got looks around the streets. it was far from stock though. very comfortable and enjoyable car. nevertheless i got rid of it after it got me in trouble with the law. lost my license for speeding and had an accident a few days later. worst week of my life followed by 3 months of train travel. great fun i tell you.

so one day i'm sitting around with a few mates and we got to talking about cars as you do. i'd seen this nice looking car around my suburb and had no idea what it was. from my description a friend worked it out. it was a Datsun 240Z. sleek, sexy adn best of all rear wheel driven. off i went searching and a couple of months later i was the proud owner of a mint stock 240. got itchy a year later and wanted to put a V8 in it but found out that the law wouldn't allow it due to weight to engine size restrictions the state of nsw had introduced in 1994. not to be one that gives up easily i went searching for a 240 that had already been engineered with a V8 pre 1994. as luck would have it i found one but it was in QLD. the car was originally built in nsw so getting a blue slip wouldn't be a problem.

roadtrip time. love those :) me and a mate drove up and had an awsome time which was capped off with my purchase of a new car. towed her home and to be honest i've had nothing but problems with her since i bought her nearly 3 years ago. all that is behind me as i've overhauled the whole car giving her a new engine, exhaust system, c4 tranny (was a supra 5 speed box) and some rear end work. basically, it is today what i imagined her to be 3 years ago...

woah i think i've rattled off a bit too much. i'll stop now. oh, here is my site http://streetrats.net/news.php some vids there and pics. finally, i'm here because mini's have always fascinated me and i think it's about time i got one :D

here's a sample pic of my little money pit

Hi all, been lurking for a while & have finally signed up...

Have owned my 1968 Mini-Matic for about three months, currently on two wheels as I'm rebuilding the rear subframe with brakes suspension etc.

Overall it's not too bad, no rust in the body except for a hole in the battery box and surface rust on the boot floor - mind you it hasn't seen a lot of action with only 40 000 miles on the clock.

Anyway seeya round...

Well hello all!

I sit here this evening writing to you all as a converted man! you could say i have seen the lite (minilite that is....) enough of that!

The name is John, Johnno, JC or any version there of. My wife (Emma) was the mini owner which has got me started. She used to have a green 78 Clubman but unfortunately a couple of years ago we were rear ended in it by a Hilux (damn near drove over us), mind you if the Hilux didnt get us the dreaded rust was lurking close behind!
so anyway that forced the hand on a rebuild project! We found ourselves a rolling shell 72 Clubman and all parts for $200 and away we went... and went... and went.... and still going!! :(
cutting the long story short - we are in the midst of a rebuild (if I can work out pictures i will post)

Anyway that is enough rambling in an introduction.

Glad to be signed up and looking forward to any and all info I can gather for the rebuild and just mini talk in general.

JC

PS - there are some very hot minis on this site! you have all done amazing jobs and I only hope ours comes out even half as good as some of the one's i've seen!

man that 240 is nice!!!!

Im kieran, 19, student

dont have a mini, have a 01 Mitsubishi Mirage. I'd like to get a nice clubman and I'm currently trying to think of a way to transport a cross country racing mountain bike and all the associated gear to a race using a mini clubman. if i can manage that, I'll probly get one.
fingers crossed.
