ok so i was just thinking as i sit here at home, ive got a 5 litre (i think) container of degreaser sitting the side rear pocket next to the backseat.. thats a fair bit of room... if i removed the ashtray(which i dont want anyway) and were to insulate it and try and reduce condensation... and make a metal liner.. and a lid and fit a refrigeration unit in there i could turn it into a fridge... i was thinking something along the lines off those cheap 7 can fridges removing the plstic and fitting that in ther... but i know they dont cool that well... any ideas on the matter ? i doubt people would have thought of it but has anyone thought of the idea ?

Get onto West Coast Customs, and let them pimp your mini.

Seriously, if you want to do that kind of crap buy a Honda. Or a commonwhore.

On second thoughts, buy willy's 1100 and pimp it. Put as many fridges in as you can fit, and then chrome everything. Then attach a bubble blower.

Just because you could do it, doesn't make it a good idea.
Sir Alec Issigonis would be disappointed in you.

Yes, you could do it. I think it's a great idea.

The six can fridges were $25 at Dick Smiths just after Christmas. I bought one and we leave it in the Jackaroo all the time now, plugged into the rear power socket.

Some Toyota Crowns and Cressidas have a small two-can unit in the rear parcel shelf.

Keep in mind these fridges take a lot of electricity to run. You'd want an uprated alternator and probably a bigger battery if you were using it all the time. Also you would need to vent the fan into the rear footwell area somehow, otherwise the fridge won't get cool.

Ah, but he also thought a radio was an extravagance and wouldn't allow one in the original Mini. How times have changed...

A fridge!
What a brilliant idea! It could go next to the pool table and King size bed!
And ofcourse it will all be controlled by your computer setup. :D

I think it is a good idea.

I'm planning on fitting one into the van when I finally get around to that project.

The spirit of mini ownership is to be able to modify it to your taste. How many of you have fitted say:

i.c.e.?
mags?
differnt seats?
auxillary gauges?
Different brakes?
Different carbs?
Different motors even?

They were modifying the balls off them back in the sixties, so unless you got an ultra rare barn find one old lady owner prototype cooper, go for it!!

Anyone seen that ad on telly with the yellow MINI and when the guy stops for a drink his can explodes? It would be worse in a classic mini, and if you don't clean it quick enough, it will eat your walls! :D
