I spent 4 hours recently making my own rubber gaskets for my door and boot hinges.

Today I went and bought some from Heritage MG for next to nix. Forget making them....the new rubber ones are mad!

Kev, you mentioned recently about the tapered washer for the door hinges. Do I use one when fastening the hinges to the body? Or is it only on the hinge to door?

I been thinking about going new gaskets all around. How much for a set of doors and boot hinge gaskets at the MG place? are they open saturdays?

...awwww, come on Jan, I am hot with da ladies....

Chong, the door gasket kit was $15 (for both doors) and the boot kit was $10.

They are moulded gaskets, not just flat like paper ones. Hard to explain. Heritage MG aren't open on weekends, but they will happily post goods. These would only be a couple of dollars to post to you.

The tapered washers are only used on the door part of the hinge and only on the top hinge. They are a tube with one end cut at an angle.

From the parts book: Distance Piece Part No 14A7387

Hope this helps
