I Have a 35L tank fitted to my mini but when its empty and i fill it up i only ever get 20 - 52L in it
how can i adjust this guages to fix the problem

Very glad to be driving a mini at this time with these extravegent fuel prices payed 1.15 for PULP today.

If you take out the gauge sender unit, it is a float on a metal wire support. Maybe you need to bend the wire so that the float goes upward.

It's like adjusting yout toilet float so that it fills up more or less when you flush it. I had to do this to all 3 toilets in my house when i bought it.

where abouts is it on the tank

bring it to my joint when your tank is about 1/4 full or less and I will do it for you.

When you look at the tank in your boot you can see a big hole in the side, with a plate over it and maybe a wire coming off it. That's it. Dont remove it with more than 1/4 tank of juice......especially at $1.15 / L.

NP that would be great now i see why i have to wait for it to only have 1/4 tank left

I am still a while off putting the front end back in. I only cleaned it up today ready to paint. I am tempted to fit my doors now, but if I do we won't be able to lift the dame thing!

I should be home on the weekend if you wanna drop in then.

hmmmm would like to but i doubt ill use fuel up that quick so it might not work

I have a similar problem, I fill the tank but the gauge only goes halfway when full and consequently stays a long time on "empty" - ran out of fuel last week in fact.

How do you know how far to bend it?

Yea, in regard to bending the wire, it is trial and error. It's hard to describe which way to bend it for which type of incorrect reading.

Kevin, you are welcome to drop in as well and I will fix yours too.

I would suggest starting with bending the float down first

Bending the float down will make you gauge read higher with the same amoung of fuel in the tank.

Bending the float up will make the gauge read less with the same amount of fuel in the tank.

I'll check Morris tomorrow for you guys I know I went the wrong way, I'm Sure I bent it down
