I was playing around with the mini, and unscrewed the master brake lid thing, and the seal or thing is completely submerged in the liquid. Apparently my master is losing pressure from somewhere, and i was going to get it reconditioned, but i didn't. So just wondering how needed this seal is to help the whole system, or is it just my lack of knowledge, as to what effects things!

And if i do get it reconditioned how much should it help the brakes,
and obviously they are drums

the seal is to keep a nice 'seal' on the fluid, giving it a second skin.
when you run low on fluid, it pops down so that air doesnt get sucked into the pipes
it also stops dust n particles getting sucked in too

if the seal gets sucked down, it means you are using up brake fluid
mine kinda does it, comes out of my front brakes
1. gets soaked by dirt and more dirt when i drive, and i cant see the damage
2. if too much, it goes onto the floor, then i can see a problem

if the seal keeps getting popped down, then youre losing fluid
and the fluid must be going somewhere

maybe its coming out from the bottom of your master
or one of the slaves
or your nipples are not stagged- i mean... tightened
