yea grub screws are the go. I will give that a whirl after rego for sure. I actually thought they were tapered threads....like on gas fittings....dunno why.

Nah- AFTER rego, get a decent head to port- 998 smoggies are too small. If you can't find a 295, at least start with a 202 (1098) head, then port it within a mm of its life.. :P .

Or notch the block and we'll drop a 940 or 1316 on there, & go gafmo hunting.... 8)

Not sure- we don't get car until tomorrow- it's a 998 Clubbie motor & head but I dunno how late. Not exciting, like all 998 heads (except Cooper). If it's not a smog one you can have another, as I said.

<edit> I've got a couple.

Hey Chris...about time you dropped in

You are correct...whoever gets to the Blue Slip station first will find out.....

I guess if you got knocked back by one, you could try another....

I am playing it safe.....you take the risks

Carbon canister's appeared approximately mid '74?? I remember my old Monaro had one. I know they came out when ADR 27A came into effect. ANyways thought I'd just add that the Monaro one was cactus, but was superb size for an electric fuel pump to hide in.

I just think it's amazing that cars in Oz from mid `70s on were fitted with all this anti-pollution crap, but in NSW it never ever gets tested!
Are all the states this slack? I suspect they are, or worse!

In Queensland, I got in the poo coz my heater hoses werent connected. I mean a place where the coldest it ever gets to about 10 degree's, we all need a heater, right. And yeah, he pinned me coz the pollution hoses were FADED. Oh yeah, and the windscreen washers didnt spray far enough up the window, must be 2/3 of the height of the windscreen, not just 1/2 like mine were.

The fact that I had a VS Senator 5 speed in the Monaro missed his attention though.

After a certain date, the heater/demister is covered by an ADR, so you must have it. Seems a bit harsh on the other things though. Steve

Oh, I was quite happy with some of the things he picked up, like worn suspension bushings and stuff. Seriously he went right over the car, but it took five inspections before he was satisfied. My old man took it for the last inspection, so maybe that had something to do with it as well.

The sad thing is, that I got sent for the inspection coz I had some bubbles in my window tint, and the fact the officer that pulled me over thought my car was too loud. Which was tested as legal at the inspection.
