Did Issigonis or his design team do the clubman or was it pen pushers that thought the mini needed an updated image so they got a ford man to change it, Interesting which design stood the test of time.

Clubmans are minis and beautiful for what they are. :D

What is the difference between an 1100 and the 1100S a little boot badge the size of a twenty cent piece and 125cc that is all, same body same brakes same interior identical.

At least there is body style, interior and brake changes between the mini models. I'd love to see an 1100 on Shannons books valued at more than 25 000 but its never going to happen. :D

Couldn't help myself.

If a clubman has had front end damage and needs surgery I'd rather see it saved than scrapped and alot of it comes down to budget and availability not always preference.

Steve.

well. Im glad I haven't told you that I have de seamed my mini van then cut the back out of it to make a ute and then cut the nose off it to make it a flipfront otherwise I'd be on your hit list for #1. I even had to wels d floor into it from a clubbie coz the van's floor was quite broken

They decided to change the front of the classic shaped mini as it was seen as dated and old hat in the 70's. It was an improvement and is still superior

Which has stood the test of time?? well that is depending on what country u are in... if u go in terms of Australia(the land of the bronzd aussie, beaches, sun surf and good weather), then u would say the clubman was the last one made and stood the test of time very welll...

... if u choose to rely on english taste (the nationality that cooks with lard, eats excessive amounts of bangers and mash, have terrible teeeth, still worship the royal family, wear bearskins on their heads and whose males have wierd fetishes) then u would say the round nose has stood the test of time.......

I know which model i think stands the test of time.. if u like to drive a car that looks like queen elizabeth herself would drive it then go and drive the ornate and pretty Round nose...

... If u would like to see the car that is a little more aggressivly styled and masculin then buy a clubby....

clubmans are beautiful for what they are??? well that is way to patronising for my liking

If you wish to drive a Round nose than that is ok....... to me i think a roundnose looks like a little sister to a morris minor... and if u think that is styling at its best i guess u belong in a roundnose

want roundy but a roundy if you want a clubman buy a clubman. Tne car if chopped and changed won't be worth as much in the long term if you start friggin' with it's body. For me a Mini is a Mini however it comes and you shouldn't change the body of it. Engine, dash, interior and paint and perhaps flares is all you ever should want to customise.

Personally I dont see what all the fuss is about...

For goodness sakes if you want a roundie front on a clubman rear. Its quite simple really and its not rocket science...

BUY A ROVER MINI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now come on that wasnt that hard or was it?

No responsibility is taken for any headaches encounted by thinking about this..

BAH!

Only the 'exclusive' Mini owners would buy a Rover

Some (most) people cannot justify spending the inital extra amount on the Rover

What pisses me off is all the talk about "Rover" Minis.
Look at the badge on the nose of willys car, does it say Rover?

yes but a lot (most) of these Rovers come to Australia half the age of our home grown Minis, but with just as much rust!
