Need to respray my subframes. Does anyone know what there painted in?, I reakon its enamel.

not sure mate but what ever it was, it didnt protect them from rust so i would suggest you look at 2pak or powder coat.. Ide go 2pak myself as any panel shop can do it and it wont cost much...

Just spray it in 2pak, powdercoat it, or you could even por15 it first..

Done what? Painted subframes? ..... yea I reckon LOTS of people on here have done that.

Are you asking: What were they originally painted in?

Given it was the 60's / 70's...... you could safely assume it WASN'T 2K. Acrylic or Enamel as it might have been called back then is highly likely. I believe it was a SATIN BLACK too, not matt or gloss.

These days I would paint them in 2K myself, or if I had more $$$ I would get a pro powder coat them for sure.

I wonder if you can get satin black 2K or powdercoat?
