Not quite sure what happened to that post, but you should get the idea. Check out the link anyway. There was a similar one but I couldn't get it to work when I tried it last time. If you want to have a go, it's

1st link worked for me. Verrrry interrrresting...

BTW the Australian Government (and the oil co.s) must be making squillions on Bass Strait crude, with the world oil price now.

Maybe I'll hold onto the excel a bit longer than planned.
I was lookin through some caryards today for the hell of it, and everyone is trying to sell me a HSV or similar. Everyone told me I've got a girls car, but I couldn't give a rats.
I said when the HSV's go more than 600 K's on $40 worth of fuel, I'll upgrade.
That'll be a long time.

I tell you who'll complain the most about the high fuel prices, the hybrid car owners.

I just can not figure it out thought.........Some people will shop somewhere so they can get 4cent off fuel but pay 10% on food :? and then will line up and get crap fuel.

it's not a sellers market because oil is a limited resource.....but rather because the elasticity of demand is almost zero. That is, regardless of the price, consumers will still buy the product.......even if it turned out that oil was an almost infinite resource AND prices fell drastically, people would consume little more than they currently are

its like smokers...because they're addicted they cant buy less smokes if the price went up....make sense?? :D

Take the time to see which company fills the underground tanks at your local independant service station.... Theres a privately owned servo a couple kays away from me .... its always filled by a BP truck.

I only ever use premium unleaded..... so $1.16 per litre is normal for me. Haven't paid less than $1.10 this year. I really dont give a crap anyway.

Just for the record, I dont have a mobile phone, dont smoke, and dont drink alcohol either..... thats why the cost of fuel doesnt bother me.

When the pizza shop puts their prices up, THATS when i get nasty

Its a national sport in Oz these days to complain about fuel prices but really its kinda hipocritical. We pay amongst the lowest prices for petrol in the developed world (and get some of the lowest quality and poluting product btw). We also drive ever larger cars bitching about those "waistful americans" at the same time beating them in every aspect of waiste and polution. We also act indignant and appauled when troops are sent to the Mid east but dont admit that its all done just to ensure our v8 commodores are kept on the road.

I know people suffer when oil prices rise, consumers hurt jobs get lost, the economy slows down but we gotta admit that as much as it is a shitty situation petrol prices in Oz are unjustifiably low and will inevitably rise. World oil reserves are coming to a max point where new reserves are seldom discovered and sustainable produstion in the exesting fields will peak within the decade (or 2). Cheap petrol prevents alternative fuels from being seen as viable and developed and also contributes to waste and polution.
