You have done a top job. It looks like its come straight of the production line.

Thumbs up.

Your engineer would have to be happy to sign off on that.
It looks better than factory. Great work 8)

Yeah brilliant effort mate. That looks so neat and given the more compact motor getting the original rad in the front is equally brilliant. My original premise for the Starlie conversion was more about drivability rather than power (though that's addictive) so the Sirion conversion must be brilliant in that regard. A few tweeks and you'll be blowing the 1275's off the road. Also nothing wrong with sleeper  .

Great work mate....what I am really interested to hear about is how it handles :?: :!:

yes its a 3 banga was one of the most fuel effiecent motors in 2000 its only around 65hp standard but its 50kgs lighter than the 'a' series ,so it should move along nicley

With 50 Kilos less over the front wheels she must be a nice handler :?: :)

(PS the Italians used Dai three cylinder engines years ago....so the precedent has already been set  )

Hey gYaTaH
Have had the car on the road for a while now and is well sorted
At first it was a bit hairy around corners after the CV and wheel bearings i thought where ok turned out to be stuffed and the noise comming from them was pretty scary and the new powerhouse made things worse

so after a new set of CV's and taper bearings it happy dives into corners and you can notice the extra weight off the front more so on quick tight turns :D

its just a bit to low it the moment thats the only downer it scrubs a bit on the flares on the tight ones

the Van is also getting a CT12 turbo for christmas ,which i have just cant afford to put on till then (respray is more important at the moment)

cheers Paul

hey stabba
the van run's on the sniff of an oily rag

the motor from Daihatsu specs uses 3.9L per 100kms so in the van pulling just over 100kgs less weight should make it less again

have not run down a full tank yet to see, Im one of those $10 hear and there people

my tank im guessing is identical to yours do you know how much it holds in litres?

Seems an excellent conversion for an everyday car.
Do you mind telling us what you paid from start to finish?

The conversion will slowly pay itself off from buying petrol; versus fuel consumption of a 1275, I would imagine.
