All i can say Doc, is that I'm sure everyone here appreciates the amount of effort you've put into the entire production. Thanks for all your effort, and yeah, I'm another one that was bombarding people with Q's about the honda discs too.

I'd say First Dibs on the S brakes, but I reckon the Honda brakes would prolly work out better anyway. Cheers for the Idea's Doc

A mate machined the centre hole in the disks for me and they are now mounted on the drive flanges. I measured up the calliper mountings and made up a template. Then I made a mockup from the template out of MDF to make sure everything fitted properly.

Now I'm having fun finding anyone willing to make up the calliper bracket. None of the local engineering places want to touch it, and the local brake conversion specialist says they usually order mounting plates in batches of 100 from an outside supplier. :(

I can get out the pillar drill and angle grinder, but I will probably kill both cutting and grinding 10mm or 12mm steel plate! (City Disks in my case, not Civic).

From a legal point of view, information posted on the web, is in fact still the sole ownership of the person posting it. Don't want to be a stick in the mud, but anything you say or post on hear can and will be used in court as evidence. Sounds harsh i know but it is the way things are. It may be worth keeping this in mind when posting information. I would even go as far as to say that the honda threat should actually be deleted so that it can't be used in court. Up to the admin gys really.

Cheers

Aaron

I hear what you are saying. But if an engineer passes the conversion as legal, then they can sue the engineer, not the owner of the car! If you fit them without getting engineers certification, then you are on your own legally...

I've already spoken to an engineer. He said no problems fitting City disks at full size, as long as it all checks out on final inspection and brake test (brake bias, performance etc). He said he would not pass them if the disks were machined down and callipers ground off to fit under 10" rims.

Well I'm getting my 10" ones engineered shortly. The engineer who did 13secmini's car didn't have a problem with them, back when Brad had them. So, I'll ask him again, get it in writing this time...
